Planning our future we are currently in Spain in a town called Santiago de la Ribera house hunting, when last evening we discovered a carnival parade about to happen. It started on the beach and continued up the main street for probably a couple of miles before ending in a marquee. Hundreds of people of all ages were taking part, dancing the whole time.
There appeared to be blocks of communities with little children in the front followed by teenagers and adults all dancing to the beat. What was more amazing were the costumes and enormous feather plumes.
Often the group ended in a float with even more elaborate plumage, followed by the next group of dancers in a different colour of ornate attire, all very scantily dressed with the most amazing figures. This went on for an hour or more. The streets were lined by hundreds of family onlookers with cameras flashing to the constant beat of loud music.
The effort and dedication was amazing each group dancing and twirling in a different pattern of steps. The costumes were so ornate and colourful with the dancers clad in feathers, sparkling costumes and high heels.
Whilst the men and boys also dressed in bright costumes carried banners.
What a place for pageantry and family commitment Spain is. How dedicated they all were to the carnival despite the very windy evening, which made it difficult to keep the headdresses and plumage from blowing away. The preparation of their costumes must have taken a whole year not to mention the expense.
Maybe if we were as dedicated to our fledgling businesses as they were to their carnival there wouldn't be as many businesses failing in the first few years as people tire of the effort.
Let us take this as an example when setting up a hobby business and put in as much effort and commitment. Begin small and build your empire to the level of commitment you desire. It will grow according to the effort you put in. Make sure you have a plan of action, maybe a mentor and do lots of research. Look out for other articles giving more details.
